Card of the Day: Green Prizm Wembanyama Rookie
There’s a funny story with this one. Do you ever speak something into existence? That’s what happened here.
I had recently gotten back into collecting and building the start of this Tanks thing, when I decided to get some basketball cards. It was a random day during lunch, my friend and I decided to take a break and go to Target. I spotted a few remaining fat packs of Prizm basketball cards, and had been constantly seeing people chase Wemby rookies.
With a genuine laugh, I said “wouldn’t it be crazy if I pulled a cool Wemby?”
Mind you, I had not purchased a pack of basketball cards for myself prior to this. It was always singles. I was just feeling lucky.
Sure enough, with no penny sleeves in hand or any way to protect it, I opened up the pack and yelled about this one! My friend was in shock.
I carefully stacked up the cards, sandwiching the Wemby carefully between cards and putting them back in the packaging to at least protect them a bit until I could get it home.
It all worked out and it still looks pristine. Should I grade it? I keep going back and forth.
